Michael E. Harris, was born and raised in Cincinnati, Ohio. He graduated at Aiken High School, and attended Wilmington College. In 1978 he was ordained as Deacon at the Robbins St. Christian Church of Cincinnati. It was there that he answered the call to preach the gospel in September 1979 while serving under the leadership of the late Rev. Edward Dixon. He then became Associate Minister and went on to attend Temple Bible College in Cincinnati, Ohio. He was licensed and ordained in 1983 by the Disciples of Christ Christian Church. Michael rose to become elected as president of the Kentucky Christian Missionary Convention from 1985-1987 where he presided over 40 churches, and pastors. He directed the mentorship program at the Lexington Theological Seminary where he had oversight of upcoming ministers. In 2004, Michael was licensed and ordained under the leadership of Bishop Jerome Norwood of St. John Missionary Baptist Church in Lexington, Ky. Michael has served as pastor of 7 churches, 3 of which he founded. He was consecrated as Bishop June 29, 2014 under Bishop Jerome Norwood. He currently oversees the pastorate of The Body of Christ Christian Church in Cincinnati, Ohio while being assisted by his wife, Pastor Anita L Harris. They have 2 children who are also in the Ministry. Jason Harris of Georgetown, KY and Anika Harris of Cincinnati, OH. Bishop Harris will serve as the overseeing instructor for lay ministers at the Southwest Louisiana International School of Ministry.
