Welcome to the Southwest Louisiana International School of Ministry. We are so excited about the opportunity to engage ministry leaders by assisting them in enhancing their “ministry tool box.” It is our sincere desire to enable the next generation of ministry leaders to be more effective and impactful in their God given calling. This course is designed for those who are already engaged in ministry, and want to sharpen their ministry skills. Additionally, it’s designed in a practical way to lay a formative ministry structure for those who eventually will assume a greater level of ministry service. For those who will assume formal seminary training later SWLIM will give you a leg up in your studies. And, those who are unable – SWLIM will serve to adequately prepare you for your ministry vocation. Regardless of where you are in your calling, we feel certain that our course can in some capacity help you. Currently, our course is not accreditation by the Department of Education; but we have sought a national ministry endorsement, with hopes to eventually gain accreditation.
The purpose of SWLIM is to provide ministry leaders the opportunity to get more formative training. The burden of many ministry leaders is that they are not able to leave home and pursue a structured seminary education; neither cost nor time will allow them to do so. Our course is designed to engage them primarily on-line, and through DVD sessions while they are under the tutorage of their own Pastor or Ministry Leader. We believe this will make the learning more inclusive and impactful. Our intent is to make our courses as academic as necessary without being to rigorous, and as practical as possible so as to get the feel for 21st century ministry.
