Liberia, a nation founded by free slaves and native Liberians, experienced the worst destruction of lives and properties when the civil war ravished the country from 1990 to 2004. Left behind are children without parents and no place to call home. Today in Liberia, many children sleep on the street; have no food, no clothes, and no access to basic education. Three-quarter of the country’s schools were destroyed during the war. Giving these unfortunate circumstances, Koinonia Christian Foundation was established as a Christian organization by natives of Liberia and America to help elevate hardship upon the Liberian People through holistic ministry. In so doing, Koinonia Christian Foundation has decided to undertake the project of building a 12- classroom building with two dormitories that will provide free education and housing for the children from Kindergarten through 12th grade.
